Get to know Lisbon from within. Take advantage of this walking tour to get into Portuguese history through the most important monuments: from Baixa to Chiado.
We will explore the beginnings of the city, more than 3000 years ago, through its history and then we will discover the 1755 Lisbon’s Earthquake and its reconstruction. Geometric streets and tile roofs that will take us to the most bohemian and alternative area known as the “Montmartre” of Lisbon.
In this tour the surprises and emotions are guaranteed. We will approach the ‘lisboetas’ through their customs and traditions. And of course, we will learn the 1974 Carnation Revolution, consequence of one of the longest dictatorships in Europe; we will ride Rossio Square, heart of the city and center of the Holy Inquisition during the Middle Ages; we will visit the São Domingos Church and there we will learn one of the most terrible episodes of the portuguese history, the Lisbon Massacre of 1506; and finally, we will be talking about one of the best portuguese poets, Fernando Pessoa.
